Since it was first recorded nearly two decades ago, no detailed taxonomic or revisionary study of the genus has been conducted. Thus, the current study was conducted to carry out a detailed taxonomic and revisionary study of Myelochroa in South Korea. This study was based on specimens deposited in.

The genus is considered to be of fairly recent origin but rather conservative in terms of morphological and chemical evolution. Four new species, R. amphithrix, R. incongrua, R. precircumnodata, and R.

subconnivens, are described and one new combination, R. relicinula (Müller Argau) Hale, is made. Books by Mason E Hale. Bulbothrix Hale is one of the tropical lichen-forming fungal genera belonging to the parmelioid core of Parmeliaceae (Crespo et al., ; Divakar et al., ).

The genus includes c. 60 species, is widespread in tropical regions and reaches its highest diversity in semi-arid woodlands and secondary forests in the Neotropics (Hale, Hale, M. () A monograph of the lichen genus Bulbothrix Hale (Parmeliaceae).

Hale and Bulbothrix Hale belong to Parmeliaceae, one of the largest families of lichenized fungi.

The genus Bulbothrix falls into two distinct lineages: clade B (with seven taxa), which is sister to Remototrachyna and eight taxa forming a sister group with Parmelinella wallichiana, making up clade C. The two genera Bulbothrix and Parmelinella are mainly distinguished on the basis of the presence or absence of bulbate, marginal cilia (39,   Journal of Chromatography 4 Hale, M.

As part of an ongoing, comprehensive inventory of all Galapagos lichen species, the genus Bulbothrix is revised here. In Galapagos it is represented by five species of which only one, B. laevigatula, had previously been reported.

Bulbothrix lyngei, B. scortella and B. subdissecta are all new to Galapagos; they also represent the first reports of these species for Ecuador.
